BAKER, Fla., Dec. 9, 2019—Two people were killed in a head-on traffic collision north of Baker last night.
The accident happened around 8:50 p.m. on State Road 189 just south of Joe Jordan Road in Baker, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
Taylor Willis, 27, of Dozier, Ala., and Hannah Miller, 22, of Andalusia, Ala., were both killed in the accident.
The other driver, Jeremy Richards, 30, from Baker, suffered minor injuries.
Willis and Miller were traveling north on 189 when their car drifted into Richards’ path in the southbound lane.
In an attempt to avoid a crash, both cars swerved in the same direction, into the northbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision, according to the release.
Miller died at the scene. Willis died en route to North Okaloosa Medical Center.
All were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
