Baker reporting more virus cases

6-27HOLT, Fla., June 27, 2020—Baker is now reporting two more cases of coronavirus according to the latest from the state health department.

New numbers released by the Florida Department of Health today shows Baker now has four confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Holt, as well as Laurel Hill, remains steady at three and four, respectively, for now.

Crestview’s numbers have crept to 82 as of today’s information.

Other areas around Okaloosa County also showed increases.

Overall, Okaloosa County is reporting 550 cases with 13 of them attributed to non-Florida residents. The county is holding steady at six deaths.

Walton County also set a record high number of new cases June 24 with 42 reported. Its daily infection rate is higher among the 35-44 and 56-64 age groups.

Santa Rosa County is reporting 436 cases with a peak high of 34 cases June 24 as well. The 15-24 age group is reporting higher daily infection rates within the county. However, the average age most affected is 39.

Florida is now reporting 132,545 positive cases overall. That’s an increase of more than 9,500, a new record high.

This is the sixth record high set in the past nine days, according to FDOH data.
