Day of milestones as state and county add more virus cases

7-15 milestonesHOLT, Fla., July 15, 2020— Virus cases in the local area rise as Florida hit another milestone passing the 300,000 case mark today during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the state’s health department, 10,181 more cases were added, bringing the total to 301,810.

Holt added another virus case, its first in four days. The total now stands at six.

Baker’s total case numbers rose by one yesterday and another one today for a total of 27 positive cases.

Milligan showed up on the health department’s data yesterday with one positive case. Laurel Hill is holding at 14 total cases.

Crestview increased its total number by 19, surpassing the 300 threshold for a total of 305.

Okaloosa County also reached a milestone with numbers rising above the 1,500 mark for a total of 1,532.

In Santa Rosa County, Milton broke the 600 total-case mark with 628, up 57 new cases from yesterday.

In other virus news, Walmart and Sam’s Club will require all customers to wear face coverings beginning July 20 (see related story).
