HOLT, Fla., Sept. 21, 2020—Holt Water Works Inc. will hold its annual board meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Because of COVID-19, the meeting will be held in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church of Holt to accommodate social distancing.

All Holt Water Works members are encouraged to attend.

The agenda for this meeting includes Holt Water members nominating and voting to elect two board members.

Members attending the meeting may nominate a person for the board of directors. All water members are eligible to vote.

In addition to the election, there will be door prizes. Four $25 Holt Water bill credits will be given to winners to be applied to their next month’s bills. Winners must be present to win.

Board of Directors

Holt Water Works has a seven-person board of directors who each serve three-year terms. Board seats are rotated so not all director seats are vacated at the same time.

Board members are elected at the utility’s annual meeting. This meeting, two seats will be open for one member whose term is up and another member who moved out of the Holt area.

Board members are elected by a vote of those attending the annual meeting.

Nominations for board members can be taken from the floor by someone attending the meeting or by a sitting member of the board. 

If more than one person is nominated for a single seat, a vote by those attending determines who serves.

Board members who have completed their three-year terms can be reelected and serve another three-year term if nominated by a board member or someone in attendance.

There are no term limits to serving as a member of the board of directors.
