HOLT, Fla., Jan. 2, 2021—Two Baker residents died today when their motorcycle struck a deer in Baker.
A 53-year-old man was headed west on Charlie Day Road around 3:40 p.m. with a 14-year-old passenger on board when a deer darted into the motorcycle’s path, according to a crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle struck the deer throwing the two off the machine. A van, also with two Baker residents, then struck the two riders, killing them.
The riders were wearing helmets. However, they were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
The occupants of the van were unharmed in the accident that occurred near Calliver Cutoff.
