Severe weather potential Wednesday

HOLT, Fla., March 14, 2021—The National Weather Service is forecasting an increasing potential for severe weather Wednesday as a cold front moves through the area.

The greater threat runs northwest of a line from Andalusia to Fairhope, with a lesser risk for the areas southeast, for now.

Timing of the system is Wednesday into Wednesday night, possibly during the afternoon/evening hours.

Damaging wind, large hail and tornadoes are possible with these storms.

The NWS notes that this weather event is three days from now and adjustments to the timing and risk will likely change.

Rain chances begin to increase starting tonight, with 40 percent Monday and 60 percent Tuesday leading into Wednesday’s storms.

Mostly sunny skies return Friday into Saturday.
