HOLT, Fla., July 24, 2021—The weather forecast through the weekend will continue to feature hot and humid conditions along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, temperatures are expected to reach the lower-to-mid 90s this afternoon with heat indices in the lower-to-mid 100s area wide.
Indices for some locations may even reach around 106-107 degrees. A heat index of 105 for this area is forecast for today.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation with possible heat illnesses, according to the NWS.
A few storm cells will once again be capable of producing strong wind gusts in excess of 40 mph, frequent lightning and very heavy downpours this afternoon.
Storms should gradually diminish into the early to mid-evening hours.
