
HOLT, Fla., Sept. 8, 2021—The area of low pressure identified as Invest 91 is showing an increase in thunderstorm and shower activity off the Florida coast southwest of Apalachicola.
Additionally, circulation of the system is becoming better defined and if this trend continues, the National Hurricane Center will issue advisories on Tropical Depression 13 or Tropical Storm Mindy later this afternoon.
Tropical storm warnings could also be issued for portions of the Florida panhandle.
After reaching the coast tonight, the system is forecast to move across the southeastern of the United States and emerge over the western Atlantic by late tomorrow.
Elsewhere in the eastern Atlantic, a tropical wave is expected to emerge off the coast of Africa in a few days.
Some development of this system is possible as it moves west-northwest and the NHC has given it a 20 percent chance for further development during the next five days.
