CRESTVIEW, Fla., Oct. 7, 2021—A male bicycle rider was killed in a hit-and-run accident early this morning on State Road 85 in Crestview.

The 44-year-old Crestview rider was southbound in the bike lane on Hwy 85 about 100 yards north of Riverwood Drive around 5 a.m.

An unknown make and model vehicle, also traveling south, crossed into the bike lane and hit the rear of the bicycle.

The driver fled the scene.

A passerby moved the bike from the roadway.

The Florida Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information about the accident to contact Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS (8477) or the FHP at *347.
