LAUREL HILL, Fla., Nov, 22, 2021—A deadly single-vehicle car crash left one person dead and two injured in Laurel Hill yesterday.

Around 5:45 p.m., a van was traveling southbound on State Road 85 just north of Senterfitt Road in Laurel Hill when it drove off the road, onto the grass shoulder on the west and hit a tree, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

After it came to a stop, the van caught fire.

The male driver and a female passenger, both 37 years old from Crestview, were listed in critical condition. A second male passenger, age unknown, died, according to the release.

The accident closed SR 85 for more than three and a half hours for the emergency. Traffic was detoured to County Road 2 and Senterfitt Road, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office traffic alert.
