FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla., Jan. 10, 2022—A Fort Walton Beach teen was taken into custody Sunday after admitting he put soap and rat poison in a man’s orange juice.
Jeremiah Lavonte Blackmon, 14, was charged with poisoning food or water with the intent to injure or kill.
The unidentified victim said he tasted something peculiar in his orange juice and spit it out, according to the news release. When he poured the contents in the sink, he noticed green particles he recognized as rat poison like the type he keeps in the kitchen.
Blackmon told deputies he put the poison in the man’s cup because he heard him talking about putting Blackmon in some type of “shelter home” (residential counseling), according to the release.
