HOLT, Fla., Dec. 6, 2022—The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office pulled a submerged truck out of the Yellow River Nov. 30.
The 2005 silver Nissan Titan pickup belonged to a resident on Sundance Way who reported the truck missing the same day.
According to Michele Nicholson, OCSO public information officer, the victim took a nap earlier in the day. When she got up to let her dog out around 11 a.m., she noticed her truck was missing and reported it to the sheriff’s office.
A short time later, OCSO received a report of an overturned boat in the Yellow River at the Guest Lake Park Boat Ramp located off Yellow River Log Lake Road. Guest Lake Park Boat Ramp is part of the Okaloosa County park system.
While conducting a welfare check, deputies discovered the overturned boat was actually the missing Nissan pickup.

For the second time in 10 days, OCSO divers went into the Yellow River to recover a vehicle. The first vehicle recovered from the river was an SUV reported stolen in Crestview. It was located in the river off Rattlesnake Bluff Road near a boat launch in Crestview Nov. 20. No link between the two thefts has been established.
The sheriff’s office does not have any leads or suspects regarding the submerged pickup at this time, according to Nicholson.
Anyone with information about the stolen truck is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
