New tax collector office to be built in Crestview

Okaloosa County, Fla., July 17, 2025—Okaloosa County will construct a new tax collector office in the Crestview Community Center complex.

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Monday at 8 a.m.

The new, approximately 30,000 square-foot building, will house the Okaloosa County Tax Collector and Okaloosa County Property Appraiser offices with space for additional growth for County Administrative services.

“It is important that we continue to meet the needs and expectations of our residents and that includes the necessary government facilities that will expand services based on anticipated future growth,” said Okaloosa County Commissioner Trey Goodwin, who is the commissioner liaison to the tax collector.

The new building will allow the Tax Collector’s Customer Service & Processing Center to relocate from its current Niceville location, said Ben Anderson, county tax collector.

“The need for an improved service center stems from the rapid expansive growth throughout north Okaloosa County and increased demand for services that have exceeded the current Crestview office location,” he said.
