
HOLT, Fla., April 18, 2026—A Gulf Breeze man was killed yesterday morning in a single-car accident on U.S. Highway 90 in Holt.

The 59-year-old man was traveling east in a gray Chevrolet Escalade EXT around 7:53 a.m. near The Cave Sports Bar when his vehicle left the road and traveled along the south shoulder hitting several mailboxes before striking a utility pole, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The vehicle continued to travel east and overturned multiple times before coming to a rest.
According to the release, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and declared dead on scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The accident closed both directions of Hwy 90 traffic for about 30 minutes.
Holt Fire District, FHP, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Okaloosa County EMS responded to the accident.
FHP Traffic Homicide is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the accident, according to the release.
