OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla., June 14, 2026—A woman threatening suicide was taken into custody yesterday afternoon after a chase on Interstate 10.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers attempted to stop the 31-year-old Century, Fla., woman who was fleeing eastbound on I-10.

The chase began in Flomaton, Ala., before reaching the interstate, according to an FHP release.

According to the FHP, the woman made several statements that she was going to attempt to commit suicide.

As the vehicle approached mile marker 53, a precision immobilization technique, or PIT maneuver, was performed that successfully ended the pursuit, according to the release.

The driver was taken into custody without further incident.
