
HOLT, Fla., Sept. 26, 2026—Holt Fire District is hosting public meetings to discuss the proposed non-binding referendum on the Nov. 3 ballot to adjust fire impact fees in the district.
To explain the background for this referendum and to answer any questions the public might have regarding the proposed referendum, Holt Fire District will hold two public workshop meetings.
The first meeting will be Oct. 5 at noon at the Holt fire station located at 483 U.S. Highway 90 West. The second meeting will be Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m., also at the fire station.

This referendum will be for Holt registered voters only.
The new proposed rates would be $1 per square foot for heated and cooled new residential construction and mobile homes and $2 per square foot for businesses.
This is a one-time payment for new construction.

Holt Fire District currently imposes fire impact fees on new construction. Shall Holt Fire District impose revised fire impact fee rates, effective October 1, 2027, in the amount of $1.00 per square foot of heated and cooled area for new residential construction and $2.00 per square foot of gross floor area for new non-residential construction?
