HOLT, Fla., April 26, 2017—The 6th Ranger Training Battalion is hosting its open house and car show April 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Camp James E. Rudder.
Rangers will demonstrate their combat skills throughout the day. Scheduled are a ranger urban assault, parachute static line and freefall demonstrations and hand-to-hand combat skills. The U.S. Army’s only reptile team will conduct a live reptile show.
Demonstrations begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The day’s activities begin with a 5K Race the Ranger run at 8 a.m. Registration is required to participate and all participants get a T-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Emerald Coast Fisher House.
Open house guests can participate in tomahawk throwing and firing U.S. military weapons. There will be static displays of different Ranger equipment. And what’s a Ranger open house without camouflage face painting for children, big or small?
Those who wish to participate in the Gator Car Show can register the day of the event. Prizes include the Commander’s Choice, Command Sergeant Major’s Choice, Instructor’s Choice and People’s Choice awards.
