HOLT, Fla., April 26, 2017—The numbers have been crunched and globally, this was the second hottest March in 138 years of recordkeeping.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration keeps tabs on weather trends and is predicting last year’s warm winter to continue well into 2017.
Additionally, NOAA is predicting increasing chances of an El Nino by late summer or fall.
For the Holt area, temperatures recorded in Crestview were typically above average except for a five-day period of cool weather March 12 through 16 with a low of 53 degrees March 13.
That brief period of cool was followed by above-average highs the rest of the month with March 22 the warmest at 90 degrees, 19 degrees above average.
