Thunderstorms with lightning expected for the evening

HOLT, Fla., Oct. 22, 2017–The National Weather Service in Mobile is calling for rain and thunder for this area tonight.

10-22pmNumerous-to-widespread showers and thunderstorms will move across the area ahead of an approaching cold front tonight.

A few strong-to-severe thunderstorms will be possible mostly ahead of the cold front late this evening with possible damaging straightline winds and a few isolated brief tornadoes, according to the NWS.

A tornado warning was issued for the Foley, Gulf Shores, Magnolia Springs, Ala., area at 4 p.m.

flood threatThe flood threat has been raised from “limited” to “elevated” by the NWS for Holt and the surrounding area.

Locally heavy rainfall may result in ponding of water on roadways along with minor flooding of urban and low lying areas.
