HOLT, Fla., Dec. 8, 2017—The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a freeze warning for Okaloosa County.
The warning is from 6 p.m. tonight through 9 a.m. Saturday.
More rain is expected today with a high of 42 degrees. A low of 30 degrees is expected tonight with a slight chance of flurries mixed with rain.
Rain is expected to end by midnight.
Saturday is forecast to be clear with a high of 48 degrees.
For areas west in Mississippi and Alabama, a winter weather event continues to unfold as a wintry mix of rain and snow shifts eastward across much of the area today, tapering off this evening.
Choctaw and Wayne counties in Alabama could see up to 3-to-5 inches of wet, slushy snow.
According to the NWS Mobile, small changes in the air temperature along the coast could shift the wintry weather mix, though snow possibilities for this are remain slim. However, flurries are possible.
Dry conditions continue through the remainder of the weekend along with very cold overnight lows, according to the NWS Mobile.
Both Saturday night and Sunday night will continue to see lows in the 20s for much of the area with lower 30s closer to the coast.
While Monday night is expected to remain above freezing, Tuesday night will likely see a light freeze across interior areas due to a reinforcing cold front which moves through the area.
Another light freeze is possible well inland late Wednesday night as well.
