HOLT, Fla., Feb. 3, 2018–The National Weather Service in Mobile is calling for numerous-to-widespread showers and a few embedded thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow.
An approaching low-pressure system will bring short periods of moderate-to-locally heavy rain to this area this evening through Sunday morning.
Rainfall amounts between .75-to-1.25 inches are expected, with isolated 2-to-3 inch totals associated with the thunderstorms. This area is expected to receive rain on the lower end of the prediction scale.
The main concern through tonight will be gusty winds, heavy rain and possibly some some hail associated with thunderstorms, though the overall threat of severe weather remains minimal, according to the NWS.
Highs today will continue to be 3-to-5 degrees below seasonal norms ranging from the mid to upper 50s for most locations.
Winds will be northeast to east at 6-to-12 knots early today, becoming southeast then south at 10-to-17 mph with higher gusts this afternoon and tonight.
The change in weather will cause tonight’s lows to be 8-to-10 degrees above seasonal norms with a low of 50 degrees here.
Tomorrow’s high is expected to be 71 degrees.
