Got that special family pie recipe that people can’t get enough of?
How about a blue-ribbon chili recipe that never fails to win?
If so, now’s the chance to show them off.
The Baker Block Museum is hosting a fundraiser March 17 to help pay for a new outdoor pavilion. Part of the festivities include a chili cook-off and a pie contest.
Winners of the chili cook-off will be picked by festival attendees for a People’s Choice award, as well as a panel of judges for first-, second- and third-place ribbons. First place receives a $100 cash prize, a blue ribbon and an apron. Event goers can purchase tasting tickets during the festival and vote on their favorite chili recipes as part of the People’s Choice award.
The pie contest is a judges-only event for first, second and third place. First place receives a $50 gift certificate, blue ribbon and custom apron.
Entry deadline for both contests is March 1.
Entry fee is $10 for each contest. For an application, contact Heather at teachvpk2014@gmail.com, stop by the museum or email Ann at bakermuseum@aol.com.
