Home surveillance video helps nab burglary suspect

SHALIMAR, Fla., July 6, 2018–A trifecta of video surveillance, social media and a vigilant citizen helped catch a burglary suspect in Fort Walton Beach July 3.

A second suspect who has yet to be identified was captured on camera as well.

The Estival Street victims of a burglary posted video and pictures to their Facebook page.

Thursday, a citizen at the Fort Walton Beach Walmart spotted the individual shown on the video standing at a self-check-out counter and called 911.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office deputies arrived and made contact with 36-year-old Charles Ryancotton Robinson who was wearing the same wrist guard, necklace, baseball cap and sunglasses, and had the same tattoos, as seen in the burglary video.

They also found he had plastic jeweler’s baggies containing heroin and a dollar bill with heroin residue.

Robinson attempted to run but was quickly taken into custody.

He is charged with burglary, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
