This weekend is full of spring fun just waiting to happen so anyone who’s bored just isn’t trying.
Flea Across Florida
Bargain shoppers can shop till they drop Friday and Saturday because this is the weekend for Florida’s longest yard sale.
Flea Across Florida begins bright and early Friday all along U.S. 90, from Jacksonville to Pensacola.
Held twice a year, the second Fridays and Saturdays in April and September, Flea Across Florida, 2019 marks the ninth year of this semi-annual event.
In addition to permanent “brick-and-mortar” stores, individual and community yard sales set up shop all along U.S. 90.
Also Friday and Saturday is the 30th Annual Old Spanish Trail Pro Rodeo held at the Baker Arena.
A local favorite every year, the evenings consist of two nights of exciting rodeo events to include bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, team roping, cowgirls’ breakaway roping, barrel racing, bulldogging and everyone’s favorite, bull riding.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the gate.
Word to the wise: Get there early because late arrivers will find traffic really backs up on highway 4 for this event.
The 3rd Annual Strawberry Festival spins up Saturday at W. Woodruff Avenue in downtown Crestview.
There will be local arts and crafts vendors for the grownups and activities for the kids.
And of course, there will be strawberries.
Fun begins at 9 a.m. and runs to 3 p.m.
The annual Average Joe Car Show gears up to run consecutively with the Strawberry Festival Saturday.
Car enthusiasts can compete with their cars, but only if they’re 1989 or older.
Registration is from 8 to 11 a.m. with trophies for first, second and third place presented in 16 categories beginning at 3 p.m.
There’s lots to do on this super-packed spring weekend.
