HOLT, Fla., May 26, 2019–The Holt Volunteer Fire District received new used equipment from Colorado recently.
When the South Metro Fire Department in Denver bought new matching equipment, they needed to dispose of the old.
A member of South Metro, who is the uncle of Holt firefighter Aaryn Cooper, contacted Holt Fire to see if the equipment could be used here.
The answer was a resounding, “Yes.”
“This may be used equipment, but we’re excited to get it,” said Shelly Chestnut, Holt Fire lieutenant.
Adam Cooper loaded the equipment on a flatbed trailer and personally brought the equipment to Holt.
Included in the haul was a generator, fire axes, hose nozzles, a ventilation fan, pipe poles and tarps.
“Everything we got from South Metro is in great condition and helps us better equip all our engines,” Chestnut said.
