Holt home featured in parade

The living room features built-in bookshelves, an electric fireplace, a wall of windows to let in the western light and access to the backyard covered porch and pool area.

HOLT, Fla., June 14, 2019–Holt is on the map–the parade of homes map, that is.

An award-winning new Holt home is featured as part of the 40th annual Building Industry of Okaloosa and Walton Counties’ Parade of Homes this year.

A first for Holt, the house is one of 25 homes in this year’s parade.

Custom built by Toolan Development Inc., the farm-style house located on 8 acres features nearly 2,900 square feet, three bedrooms, two full baths and a fourth bedroom with full bath upstairs.

The kitchen, complete with a large island and eating area, is open to the dining and living room with access to the mud room and stairway leading to a fourth bedroom upstairs.

The open floor plan includes a kitchen-dining area, large island, granite countertops, farm sink and custom cabinetry, as well as a spacious walk-in pantry.

A separate dining room with a brick wall feature is just off the entryway from double glass front doors.

A mud room with built-in L-shaped bench and wall hooks is at the foot of a stairway leading to the fourth bedroom and complete full bath in the area over the garage.

Complete with covered front and back porches, there’s also a screened-in pool and hot tub area accessible from the living room, as well as through French doors off the master bedroom suite.

The master bath has both his-and-hers vanity sinks and closets as well as a garden tub and tiled walk-in shower.

The parade of homes began June 8 and runs through June 16. The Holt house will be open from 1-8 p.m. Friday as part of the parade’s “twilight tour,” 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. the final day on Sunday.

To check out Holt’s award-wining entry, traveling from U.S. 90, turn north on Galliver Cutoff and take the quick left onto Griffith Mill Road. ¬†Follow the blue square Parade of Homes signs to 4878 Griffith Mill Road.

Admission to the parade of homes is free and open to the public.

In addition to the house in Holt, there are five parade homes in Crestview and two in Baker.
