HOLT, Fla., March 31, 2020–A fallen tree was the only noticeable damage here from the severe storms that came through the area earlier today.
According to the National Weather Service, radar indicated rotation in the clouds prompting several tornado warnings for Okaloosa County and this area in particular between 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The storms were packing damaging wind gusts of up to 60 mph, according to the NWS.
As the storm was moving through the area, a 911 call went out around 12:15 p.m. for the location of U.S. 90 and Seigler Street east of Brown’s Grocery where a tree on the north side of the highway had fallen and blocked traffic.
Holt Fire District responded and firefighters quickly removed the tree and cleared the highway.
