FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla., March 31, 2020—All Okaloosa County schools will remain closed until May 1 according to the school superintendent.
According to a news release, Florida’s Commissioner of Education decided to keep all schools throughout the state closed until May.
That means distance learning will continue for at least another month, if not longer, according to the release.
Food service will continue for school-age students. Grab-and-go meals north Okaloosa are available in at Baker School, Laurel Hill School, Northwood Elementary, Riverside Elementary and Davidson Middle School.
Additionally, buses for more rural areas, including Holt and Milligan will continue. Buses will remain at each stop for approximately 10 minutes. Both breakfast and lunch will be available for pick-up.
Students, either accompanied by a parent or alone, must be present to pick up meals. Two meals for each student (breakfast and lunch) is allowed for pick-up.
