Holt adds fifth virus case

7-11 OkCoHOLT, Fla., July 11, 2020—Holt added another positive COVID-19 case bringing the total to five with the state’s health department update today.

The Holt and Baker areas west of the Okaloosa-Santa Rosa county line continue to show zero positive cases.

Baker in Okaloosa County has been holding at 23 total cases for the last four days.

Crestview’s numbers continue to rise and is now at 210 positive cases, up nine from yesterday.

On average, Crestview has added eight cases a day for the past week with Friday’s 23 additional cases being the highest.

Laurel Hill also added three more cases to its totals, bringing it to 11.

The county reached a milestone yesterday by breaking the 1,000 threshold and added another 45 positive cases with today’s update for a total of 1,130.

Okaloosa deaths rose by one July 9 for a total of 10 across the county while the state added another 95 virus-related deaths in today’s update.

Across the state, Florida continues to post record-high numbers and has the third highest in the country at 254,511.

Yesterday’s 11,433 additional cases was the second highest to date. Today’s update showed another 10,360 positive cases were added.

In the past week, Florida has added close to 64,500 new COVID-19 cases. Since the first week of June, Florida’s added more than 100,000 coronavirus cases, according to information from Johns Hopkins University.
