HOLT, Fla., July 29, 2020—Okaloosa County’s positive virus numbers continue to climb.
The county added 93 additional positive cases today, the highest since July 20.
Nearly all north county communities added to their totals as well except for Milligan with two total cases and Laurel Hill with 23.
Baker’s total increased by four to 52. Holt added one more positive case for a total of 17.
Across the state, Florida again set a high record for COVID-19-related deaths during a 24-hour period by adding 217 additional deaths.
This contributed to the nation reaching and exceeding the grim 150,000 death milestone today, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
The United States leads the world in the number of deaths by more than 60,000. Brazil has the second-highest number of deaths with just over 90,000.
