HOLT, Fla., Sept. 18, 2020—Today marked the first day in more than 80 that north county communities did not add any new virus cases to their totals.
Overall, the county added 11 new cases, all in south Okaloosa County.
For the first time since at least July 1, Crestview’s daily additional positive case count was zero. The total stands at 955.
Holt has been holding steady at 34 total cases since Sept. 12.
Baker added one new case yesterday bringing its total to 93.
Milligan is back up to three cases, having added a new one Tuesday.
Laurel Hill added a couple of cases during the past week bringing its total to 51.
The state continues to add new cases daily, averaging more than 3,000 new cases a day. Florida now has 677,660 total cases, the third most in the United States behind California and Texas.
Okaloosa County added one virus-related death today, two yesterday and three Wednesday to reach the milestone of 100 deaths.
Across the state, 13,387 people have died from COVID-19-related illnesses. Florida has the fifth-highest number of virus-related deaths in the United States, behind New York, New Jersey, California and Texas.
