HOLT, Fla., Jan. 6, 2021—Florida set a new single-day record by adding 17,783 new virus cases today.
This breaks the previous record of 17,192 set Dec. 31, less than a week ago, and comes on the heels of the state posting the second-highest totals just yesterday.

Okaloosa County contributed 200 new cases today to the record-breaking total.
Additionally, the county added six new virus-related deaths bringing the total to 238.
In north Okaloosa, communities in Holt, Baker and Crestview also added new case numbers. Laurel Hill remains at 190 for the second day in a row.
Holt increased by four to 121. Baker added 12 pushing the total over 400 for the first time to 401. And Crestview added another 44 cases to bring the total to 3,464.
