
HOLT, Fla., Jan. 12, 2021–Publix supermarkets in Okaloosa County will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine to seniors 65 years and older Wednesday.
This announcement was made the same day the state of Florida exceeded 1.5 million positive cases.
Both of Crestview’s Publix pharmacies will be administering the Moderna vaccine.
All vaccines are by appointment only.
Eligible individuals can make an appointment using the online reservation system at www.publix.com/covidvaccine beginning Wednesday.
Those with health insurance must bring their health insurance card to their scheduled appointments. Those without insurance must provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.
According to a news release from the governor’s office, Florida has vaccinated more than 350,000 seniors, more than any other state reporting updates on the effort.
Florida is home to more than 4.5 million seniors.
