CRESTVIEW, Fla., Jan. 13, 2021—The Hub City’s Martin Luther King Jr. community observance is scheduled for Jan. 16.

The observance, hosted in part by the Carver-Hill Community Coalition and the Crestview Youth Coalition with the City of Crestview, includes a program of music and video.

Rather than a walk, due to COVID-19, the celebration will begin with a motorcade ending at the Spanish Trail Park for a drive-in style program.

The motorcade will drive up Wilson Street, down Main Street, then up Industrial Drive to the Stillwell Boulevard park entrance.

Residents and community organizations wishing to participate in the vehicle procession may begin lining up at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church parking lot, 603 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 16 for the 12:30 p.m. motorcade start.

The ceremony in Spanish Trail Park, which includes remarks from community leaders and clergy, begins at 1 p.m. with audio broadcast on car radios.
