Fire destroys mobile home in Holt

A mobile home in Holt burns to the ground April 13 as firefighters from four units battle the blaze.

HOLT, Fla., April 14, 2021—No one was hurt when a mobile home went up in flames here Tuesday around 10:45 p.m.

When Holt Fire District firefighters responded to the 3rd Avenue home, flames were reaching up to the tops of the trees. The trailer was fully engulfed.

A Dodge pickup parked next to the home also caught fire.

The heat from the fire was felt 150 feet down the road, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

The home burned to the ground, a total loss.

Because the trailer was being remodeled, no one was living in the home at the time of the blaze.

The fire was mostly extinguished by 11:45 p.m. with a few hot spots and embers remaining.

Baker Fire District, Harold Fire District, Crestview Fire Department, Okaloosa County EMS and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office assisted Holt Fire on the call.
