
HOLT, Fla., May 9, 2021—A more unsettled and stormy weather pattern sets up over the forecast area starting late tonight and continuing through much of the upcoming week.
The National Weather Service in Mobile is forecasting showers and thunderstorms increasing in coverage across the region late tonight into tomorrow morning.
Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are then expected across the area each day through Thursday.
Localized heavy rainfall with isolated strong-to-severe storms are possible each day, according to the NWS.
A round of showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across southern portions of southeast Mississippi, much of southwest Alabama and into the western Florida panhandle after midnight tonight through the early morning hours on Monday.
Storms could produce a quick 1-to-2 inches of rain with locally higher totals late tonight into Monday morning.
Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon
The unsettled weather pattern continues Monday and Tuesday.
Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will develop through this period.
A few storms will be strong to marginally severe and will also be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall.
There is a level 1 (out of 5) risk of severe storms both days.
The heaviest rainfall through Tuesday currently looks to be most favored across southeast Mississippi and southwest Alabama.
