HOLT, Fla., June 4, 2021—Holt Water Works Inc. is increasing water rates effective with next month’s billing.
The rate change is a result of rising costs associated with managing a water utility.
“We haven’t raised our water rates since April 2015,” said Holt Water Manager Donna Ash. “However, increasing costs of chemicals, water sampling and other supplies needed to provide safe and clean drinking water is driving the rate increase.”
Holt Water Board of Directors voted to increase the rates at its regular monthly meeting in March.
Residential rates for 3/4 inch lines will go up from $14.50 to $15.95, an increase of $1.45 for the first 2,500 gallons used.
Commercial rates for 3/4 inch lines will go up from $17 to $18.70, an increase of $1.70.
Holt provides water services to more than 900 homes and businesses on the system and operates more than 63 miles of service lines.
