HOLT, Fla. June 4, 2021—Two Holt residents were arrested after witnesses reported gunfire here June 1.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an aggravated assault call on Log Lake Road around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday.
An investigation determined Steven Lucas, 29, fired a shotgun at another man, according to his arrest report. The report did not give a reason why Lucas fired at the man.

Lucas was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
Also charged was Taylor Marie Coppola, 27, for resisting arrest in relation to the incident.
Tuesday evening, Lucas reportedly fired a shotgun at the victim who fled north on Log Lake Road, according to the arrest report.
Several witnesses stated they heard several shots that sounded like semi-automatic fire around 9:30 p.m.
Two search warrants were requested to search the Log Lake residence and property, and to search for gunshot residue on Lucas’ hands.

According to Coppola’s arrest report, while waiting for approval for the warrants, deputies asked Coppola, who was the homeowner, to remain outside; however, she ignored the request and pulled away from the deputies in an attempt to go back inside the home.
As a result, she was charged with resisting arrest.
According to the report, Lucas told deputies there were guns in the home and that Coppola owned a rifle and slept with it between the bedframe and the mattress.
A search of the home revealed a Rossi .243 Winchester rifle in the bedroom where Lucas said it was kept.
A single-spent .243 Winchester round was found on a bookshelf in the bedroom.
Both Lucas and Coppola were booked into the Okaloosa County Jail June 1. Coppola was released on bond not long afterwards. Lucas was released the next day.
