
WALTON COUNTY, Fla., Aug. 25, 2021—Walton County Sheriff’s Office has recovered a body from a shallow grave on a property in Crestview today.
An ongoing investigation in Walton County led to the property on Chapperal Street in Crestview, according to a WCSO Facebook post yesterday.
According to today’s WCSO news release, a joint investigation that began yesterday with Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office kept investigators and crime scene technicians out into the early hours this morning.
Investigators believe the body to be an adult male.
Additional testing and an autopsy must be completed to identify the remains, according to the release.
Also assisting WCSO in the investigation was the Klaus Kids K-9 Unit along with the Medical Examiner’s Office, State Attorney’s Office and the forensic anthropology team from the University of West Florida.
