BAKER, Fla., Dec. 2, 2021—The Cambellton man arrested Wednesday for multiple hit-and-run accidents in Baker was involved in five different incidents.
The string of crashes started with an early morning crash involving a bicyclist on Buck Ward Road.
James William Sullivan, 57, fled the scene and was involved in a traffic crash involving a vehicle that subsequently rolled over on State Road 189 and Hester Church Road.
Fleeing the scene, Sullivan continued south on SR 189 and was involved in a traffic crash on SR 189 at County Road 4A.
He fled that scene and was involved in a traffic crash at SR 189 and Georgia Avenue.
Fleeing the scene yet again, he tangled with a vehicle in the parking lot of the Ritz Store at State Road 4 and Galliver Cut-off.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Sullivan on U.S. Highway 90 at the Shoal River Bridge after he initially refused to stop and charged him with fleeing and eluding with lights and sirens, and resisting arrest without violence. The Florida Highway Patrol charged him with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle.
According to the FHP, the investigation is ongoing and charges are still pending.
