CRESTVIEW, Fla., Dec. 29, 2019—Law enforcement chased down a Crestview man suspected of armed carjacking today.

Florida Highway Patrol charged Rayshawn Durrell Shoffner, 28, with aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended/revoked license. Among other charges, he is also charged with grand theft auto, grand theft from a posted construction site and assault on a law enforcement officer.
Around 9:14 a.m., the Crestview Police Department was in active pursuit of Shoffner who was driving a 2017 Ford F-650 flatbed truck.
FHP crime interdiction unit members in the area assisted the Crestview police around State Road 85 and Cobbler Lane in north Crestview.
As the pursuit progressed north out of Crestview city limits, Crestview Police canceled its pursuit and the FHP CIU members took the lead.
The suspect finally brought the vehicle to a stop in the area of SR 85 and 3rd Street in Laurel Hill.
FHP members were able to safely apprehend the suspect without incident and no members were injured during the event.
