Slight chance of severe storms today

HOLT, Fla., Feb. 3, 2022—The entire forecast area is now included under a Level 2 severe storm risk area ahead of an advancing cold front.

Rains will continue throughout the day with stronger storms possible this afternoon and evening.

Main threats today are damaging winds, although a few tornadoes are possible, according to the National Weather Service in Mobile.

Rain totals are expected around 2 to 4 inches today with rains gradually diminishing tomorrow.

Winds will be from the south at 15 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 30. Winds shift to the northwest after midnight.

Behind the front, tomorrow’s high will be around 8 a.m. before temps begin dropping throughout the day to a low of 35 degrees tomorrow night.

It will continue to be gusty Friday with north winds around 10 to 15 mph and 20 mph gusts. Wind chills for Friday night will be in the 20s.

Saturday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high of 53.
