Sheriff’s Office still investigating missing Holt man

HOLT, Fla., March 2, ,2022—The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation in to the disappearance of a Holt man who was last seen in January.

Holt resident Richard Burnhardt “Bear” Shambo, 74, was last seen at his property at 4342 Log Lake Road Jan. 5, according to an OCSO news release.

Two individuals who went to Shambo’s property Jan. 10 said an unknown white male was there, claiming he was feeding the dogs for a few days.

The man is described as an older white male, approximately 6 feet tall with a slender build, shoulder-length black hair with gray streaks and unshaven facial hair. He was driving a newer model gray van, according to the release.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to talk to this individual to see if he has any information that could be helpful in the investigation into Shambo’s disappearance.
