BAKER, Fla., May 10, 2022—A Holt woman was critically injured today on State Road 4 in a traffic accident near the Dollar General Store.

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. and partially closed the roadway for a period of time while Baker Fire District, Okaloosa County EMS, Florida Highway Patrol and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

As the 63-year-old woman was making a left-hand turn from Hilton Road North onto Hwy 4, a southbound SUV from Baker hit the left side of her car, temporarily trapping her inside.

Holt Fire District was called to assist with landing the medical helicopter. Okaloosa MedFlight transported the woman to the hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the SUV was uninjured, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

This is the second crash in less than 24 hours on Hwy 4. Yesterday, an accident near the Milligan Assembly of God Church shut down one lane for a traffic accident around 6 p.m.
