NHC watching two areas

HOLT, Fla., Aug. 23, 2022—The National Hurricane Center is tracking two possible tropical disturbances.

Both have been given a 20 percent chance of further development during the next five days.

The first is a large area of disturbed weather that formed earlier this morning located several hundred miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands.

According to the NHC, environmental conditions could become favorable for further development in a few days while the disturbance moves across the islands and into the southeastern Caribbean Sea.

The second area the NHC is watching is a tropical wave that is expected to move off the coast of Africa in a couple of days.

Environmental conditions could support some slow development later this week or during the weekend, according to the NHC.

And lastly, the tropical wave that the NHC designated Invest 90 fizzled out over the central tropical Atlantic earlier today.
