
HOLT, Fla., Feb. 16, 2023—Two rounds of strong-to-severe storms ahead of a cold front will be possible this afternoon through tonight across the entire area.
According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, the first round consisting of scattered storms will occur this afternoon and into the evening hours. The second round will bring a squall line that will push through the area this evening into the overnight hours.
Timing for these storms in Okaloosa County is between 6 p.m. today and 2 a.m. tomorrow.
This area is in a level two risk zone for severe weather while areas to the northwest are under a level 3 risk.
The main threats with any severe storm will be damaging winds of 60 to 70 mph and tornadoes, according to the NWS. Quarter-size hail or larger may also be possible.
Additionally, a strong tornado cannot be ruled out in areas to the northwest, according to the NWS.
