HOLT, Fla., May 21, 2026—Holt Fire District is firing up the smoker tomorrow and Saturday for their Memorial Day rib sale.

The District is smoking 270 racks of ribs pre-seasoned with their special Almost Al’s Rib Rub, a secret recipe that’s been perfected during the past 10 years.

Ninety racks will go into the smoker around 7-8 a.m. tomorrow morning and will be done around 11 a.m. Another batch of 90 will go in for a second smoking and should be done no later than 3 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, the last 90 racks of ribs will go into the smoker early in the morning to ready by midday.

Cost is $24 a rack. That’s a $2 increase from the February sale due to rising food costs.

Every rack purchased helps support Holt’s volunteer firefighters.

Holt Fire holds three rib sale fundraisers a year. The next sale is scheduled for Columbus Day weekend.

The fire station is located at 483 U.S. Highway 90 West in Holt. If coming from Interstate 10, take exit 45, turn north toward Hwy 90, then west at the flashing light. The station is on the right.
