HOLT, Fla., July 11, 2026—Multiple units responded to a structure fire here yesterday evening.

No one was injured in the fire; however, several pets and farm animals were lost in the blaze.

The call went out at 6:08 p.m. for a mobile home fire at Mullins and Nap Knob lanes, north of Horseshoe Lane.

According to a report by Okaloosa County EMS, the black smoke could be seen over the treetops from the area of the Lee Farms subdivision on U.S. 90 near Old Bethel Road.

It was also reported that heat from the flames could be felt along the east side of the Kayak solar farm next to the west side of Horseshoe Lane.

Holt Fire District had assistance from Baker and Harold fire districts and Crestview Fire Department to battle the blaze, as well as on-scene support from Okaloosa County EMS and the Florida State Fire Marshal.

By 7:30 p.m., the fire was under control and the mop-up began. Seven hours later, Holt Fire District finally called it a day around 1 a.m. this morning after all the cleanup was completed.
