HOLT, Fla., Sept. 19, 2026—A domestic disturbance in Holt led to the arrest of a Baker man last night.

Chance Phillips, 41, was found by Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies in violation of a protective domestic violence injunction in Holt.
He was also suffering from a gunshot wound, according to an OCSO news release.
Deputies responded after a woman reported Phillips arrived at her residence despite the injunction prohibiting him from having contact with her.
During the ensuing confrontation, she said Phillips grabbed her and threw her to the ground. He later grabbed her again as she attempted to get away and seek protection, according to the release.
During the investigation, deputies also learned during a fight over a weapon, the suspect sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
An open-air sniff of Phillips’s vehicle was conducted by OCSO K-9 Vojak who alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Deputies located a bag containing a white crystalline substance inside the vehicle. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately five grams.
Phillis was arrested and charged with battery (second or subsequent offense), possession of methamphetamine and violation of an injunction for protection against domestic violence.
He was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail without incident.
