
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla., Oct. 11, 2026—Okaloosa County will begin storm-related debris removal for unincorporated residents this week.
The removal will take place with two separate pickup periods. The first pickup period will begin Wednesday.
Residents should place storm-related debris on the curb unbagged. Debris must be visible for pickup crews.
The second removal date will be determined and announced to residents following the first pickup.
The county again stresses that debris NOT be placed in plastic bags.
Debris items include:
- Végétative – tree limbs, branches, leaves
- Other storm-related debris – such as water-damaged drywall, furniture, etc.
- No electronics
Residents living within the municipalities such as Laurel Hill should contact their city/town for information on debris removal in these areas.
Pickup notes:
- Place material away from fire hydrants, mailboxes, power boxes, water, meters, parked vehicles, etc.
- Do not mix storm debris garbage with regular garbage.
